ASAP Analytical wins contract to supply IRD 3 to DEA

ASAP Analytical of Covington, KY, a world-wide leader in vapor phase FTIR technology, announced today they have been awarded a large contract with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to supply the state of the art IRD 3 vapor phase GC-FTIR.
The IRD 3 has been combined with Gas Chromatograph (GC) technology to create a complete system that will allow the DEA to better identify unknown drugs of abuse.
J. Tyler Harris, President of ASAP Analytical was quoted as stating, "The IRD 3 gives the DEA another tool to help fight the war on drugs."
The new IRD 3 units will be installed in the Mid-Atlantic regional lab in Largo, MD and the Southwestern regional lab in Dallas, TX. This DEA order has upgraded all government labs to vapor phase technology for the structural identification of drugs of abuse.
