ASAP Analytical of Covington, KY, a world-wide leader in vapor phase FTIR technology, announced today they have installed a third GC-IRD 3 into the Health Canada system of laboratories. The IRD 3 was installed at the Health Canada lab in Burnaby, British Columbia.
The IRD 3 will be combined with Gas Chromatography (GC) technology to create a high productivity system for the identification of unknown drugs of abuse. Every drug sample that enters the Health Canada lab will first be screened by GC-IRD to begin the process of identification.
"Using the IRD 3 as a first line of identification offers many advantages, first and foremost the ability to differentiate isomers”, President of ASAP Analytical J. Tyler Harris was quoted as stating.
ASAP Analytical is a family-owned manufacturer, distributor and service provider of analytical instrumentation. Since 1999, ASAP Analytical has been at the forefront of both vapor phase FTIR and large volume injections for gas chromatography.
